Our New Baby - Kenwood Juice Extractor

Today we bought a new juicer - Kenwood Juice Extractor Model JE 660. The current one that we have has a very small feeder - so it takes more laborious time to cut the fruits and vegetables into smaller sizes to fit into the feeder. Since we are using the juicer everyday, we thought it'd be great to invest in a better juicer. So, we were just looking around at Best Denki, Suria KLCC and we spotted this baby - and it was sold at a very good discount - RM 199! Wow, we thought that is a great bargain for a Kenwood Juicer and bought it straight away. This one has a big feeder which can fit an entire apple - which will save me so much time early in the morning! It feels great to start a brand new year with a new juicer :)

Freshly Squeezed Green Juice

Today's morning juicing: Freshly squeezed green juice comprising of: cucumber, brocolli, spinach, organic Chinese cabbage, kacang botol (winged bean) and kailan (Chinese kale). To be honest, unlike most of the other fruit and carrot juices I have made, this one was pretty hard to ingest. The first time I sipped it, it tasted like a glass of freshly-mown grass juice - YUCKS. I had to hold my breath and force myself to gulp the juice down. Alfred almost gagged after having the first sip. I think it takes some time to get use to the taste. But the immense health benefits of alkaline green juice far outweights the taste.

Dragon Fruit Smoothie

After coming back from Ai Lin's church wedding, we were craving for some smoothies. So we made ourselves dragon fruit smoothie - it's yummy-licious and so refreshing - and it's a mood-booster.

Herewith is the recipe:
- 1 ripe dragon fruit (the one we bought is with the pink flesh)
- 1/4 cup yogurt (depends on how sour/creamy you want your smoothie to be)
- 1/2 cup soy bean or low-fat milk
- Crushed ice
